Top SchoolPaul Thomas is a software engineering manager with a decade of experience building and scaling engineering teams and processes across SaaS startups and scale-ups. He blends hands-on JavaScript/TypeScript expertise with leadership in multi-language teams (Ruby, Python) and cloud operations on AWS and GCP to deliver secure, compliant products (ISO27001, OWASP). Paul has driven hiring, career frameworks, roadmaps and engineering culture through hypergrowth phases, notably helping scale a company from ~10 to 300+ employees and supporting multiple investment rounds. He pairs product-facing collaboration with pragmatic technical debt management to keep teams productive while meeting enterprise compliance needs. Outside work he’s an entrepreneur and outdoor enthusiast—running a mountain-bike holiday business for over a decade—which informs his practical, user-first approach to building products.
