Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolPaula Bannerman is an artistic software engineer and STEM/STEAM advocate with eight years of focused engineering experience and a long track record of creative leadership dating back to early art and design roles. She blends full‑stack development skills—React, Node, TypeScript, Docker, AWS, Jekyll/Drupal—with hands‑on instruction, having mentored and led cohorts of students and developer teams at General Assembly and in community workshops. Paula has modernized legacy systems, remediated security backlogs across multiple sites, and built production apps integrating external APIs and testing automation. Equally comfortable producing print and multimedia for clients and translating designer mockups into responsive front ends, she creates learning environments that encourage discovery and independent problem solving. Based in Reston, VA, she brings a rare mix of silversmithing craftsmanship and software engineering rigor, and often leverages artistic process to inform elegant, user‑centered technical solutions.
