Pedro Cunha
Staff Software Engineer at Deliveroo
Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal
Summary
👤
SeniorPedro Cunha is a Senior Staff Software Engineer based in Lisbon with 14 years of experience building scalable, production-grade systems primarily on AWS across multiple language stacks. At Deliveroo he shaped architecture and operational excellence for large consumer-facing teams, authored the company’s “Golden Path,” and led cross-functional initiatives that tightened security, improved hiring efficiency, and delivered core pricing and logistics systems driving real business metrics. He blends deep hands-on delivery (Go, Ruby, Python, SQL) with leadership—mentoring teams, running interviews, and defining engineering vision—and has a track record of turning ML prototypes into reliable services in production. Pragmatic and data-driven, he has shipped libraries and tooling used org-wide and iterated on hiring tests using Python/Pandas to save substantial interviewer time. Always learning and open to compelling opportunities, he prefers to stay in Lisbon and focuses on roles that combine architecture, operational rigor, and measurable user impact.
