Top SchoolPerry Naughton is a Senior Algorithm Developer with 13 years of experience specializing in digital signal processing, sensor networks, and systems-level development for remote sensing applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UC San Diego and built a niche expertise in ambient acoustic noise processing to self-localize swarms of underwater sensors, work validated through collaborations with Scripps Institution of Oceanography and a research stint in Grenoble. At Toyon Research Corporation he applies signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning (including CNNs and RL) to real-world problems, building on a track record of leading AUV hardware/software teams and mentoring student projects. Perry combines deep theoretical rigor with hands-on prototyping across archaeology, ecology, and physical oceanography, making him adept at turning noisy environmental data into actionable location and perception systems. An under-the-radar strength is his history of cross-disciplinary collaboration—bridging oceanography, robotics, and cultural heritage—to deploy sensing solutions in challenging field conditions.
