Top SchoolPete Gillin is a Principal Software Engineer based in London with a strong track record of architecting and delivering large-scale systems across industry leaders including Google, Privitar, Informatica, and now Elastic. He brings deep technical judgment shaped by a long tenure at Google and leadership roles in data privacy and integration products, translating research-grade thinking into pragmatic engineering solutions. Pete pairs a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Oxford with hands-on software craftsmanship, enabling him to tackle complex distributed systems and data challenges with analytical rigor. He is experienced in mentoring engineers and driving architecture across cloud-native and enterprise platforms, often operating at the intersection of product, security, and scalability. A subtle strength is his ability to bridge theoretical modeling and production constraints—a carryover from academic research that helps him simplify hard problems into reliable systems.
