Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolPeter Etelej is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years of experience building scalable web and infrastructure systems, currently developing Identity & Access Management at Microsoft from Nairobi. He bridges backend and frontend work—Go, Kotlin, React, Svelte—and has led architecture, DevOps and DB efforts across startups, a public benefit fintech, and the Central Bank of Kenya. At Andela he ran frontend architecture, CI/CD and Terraform-driven AWS infra while mentoring engineers and conducting technical hiring. His personal open-source projects (Go libraries, CLI tools, and web PWAs) demonstrate a habit of shipping small, practical utilities such as a NASA API SDK, static site servers, and service discovery tools. He combines enterprise-grade DB and ops experience (Oracle, RDS, Prometheus/Grafana) with a hacker’s inclination for weekend builds and mobile apps. Powered by insulin, he’s as comfortable designing APIs and container orchestration as he is iterating on side projects that solve real-world problems.
