Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolPeter Morton is an artistic director and puppet designer with nine years’ experience crafting intricate, transformative stagework that brings objects and stories vividly to life. As founder and Artistic Director of Half a String he develops instinctual, emotionally honest productions, while his freelance credits span the National Theatre, Little Angel Theatre and award-winning projects at Half Moon Young People’s Theatre. His practice blends detailed material experimentation with kinetic set design—often hiding mechanics and secrets that surprise audiences and performers alike. Notably he has bridged theatre and film PR work, handling a high-profile dinosaur puppet for Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World Rebirth premieres, showing a rare knack for moving large-scale puppetry between stage and screen. Trained at the University of Kent (MDrama), he also mentors young performers in puppetry, emphasizing practical skill transfer alongside creative risk-taking.
