Summary
👤
SeniorPhil Archer is a Web standards and data strategy leader with 11 years of experience driving interoperable eCommerce and product-data solutions, currently serving as Director Web Solutions at GS1. He applies deep W3C expertise—having led data activity and training there—to practical projects like dereferenceable persistent URIs for barcodes that improve supply chain efficiency and customer experience. Phil bridges standards, semantic web, and real-world implementation, preferring integrated web-native data over siloed exchanges. His background spans public sector eGov projects, startup-led NLP initiatives, and industry-facing roles that require translating complex standards into usable tooling. Based in Babergh, England, he is a pragmatic advocate for making linked data usable at scale across commerce ecosystems.
