Top SchoolPhil Poore is a pragmatic lead developer and founder with over 20 years of experience rescuing, modernising and scaling complex systems across startups and enterprise clients. He combines hands-on architecture, refactoring and infrastructure skills with deep product sensibility—having rebuilt legacy charity platforms for acquisition, led a legal-tech SaaS as principal engineer, and shipped a news+NLP system that processed 350k articles/day. Comfortable anywhere in the stack, he’s delivered secure multi-tenant platforms, CI/CD and 100% backend test coverage, plus advanced document integration using Word/OOXML. A low-drama, highly autonomous operator, Phil thrives when dropped into technical chaos and given scope to redesign systems for performance and maintainability. He also brings an unusual background in fine-dining kitchens, which shaped his discipline and attention to detail that now informs engineering and incident response. Available for senior contracting roles in the UK or remotely.
