Top SchoolPhilipp Srivastava is a culturally fluent software engineer and researcher with nine years of experience building ML-powered tools and production-ready applications, currently a CIERA Post-Baccalaureate Fellow at Northwestern University. He applies electrical engineering and computer science rigor to astrophysics problems—optimizing RAM for stellar evolution simulations and developing ML models that enhance simulation detail. His background spans biomedical image classification and object detection for rapid COVID-19 diagnostics, agile classroom-scheduling software, and consumer-facing mobile and web apps, reflecting versatility from research to product. Fluent in four languages and having lived in three countries, he brings adaptable, out-of-the-box thinking to cross-disciplinary teams and complex debugging challenges. An independent thinker who balances publication-oriented work (plots and model evaluation) with pragmatic engineering fixes, he excels at turning research code into robust, usable systems.
