Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolPhu Hoang is a pragmatic engineering leader with 16 years’ experience building and operating resilient microservice platforms across e-commerce and data analytics. He has led SRE and DevOps teams at ZALORA, shaping platform tooling for nine countries using NixOS, Haskell, AWS and Terraform, and later drove API and ETL ecosystems in Elixir and GraphQL at Hockeystick. Known for automating repetitive work and turning operational pain points into reproducible pipelines, he combines hands-on development with mentored team growth and rigorous code review. His background spans full lifecycle delivery from mobile apps and system administration to large-scale backend performance tuning in Java, Go and PHP. Based in Canada, he brings a practical focus on observability, reliability and developer velocity while still shipping production-grade code himself. An understated strength is his knack for selecting unconventional but robust tools (e.g., NixOS, Haskell) to solve long-term maintainability problems.
