Senior🎓
Top SchoolPing Sun is a Senior Software Engineer at Google with nine years of experience building cloud infrastructure, service mesh tooling, and computer vision systems. He holds a Master's in Computer Science from UC Irvine (4.0 GPA) and a CS bachelor's from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and has shipped features across Google Private Cloud including bare‑metal OS management, multi‑tenancy, and protected rolling updates. His background spans low‑level systems (C++, Go), cloud-native platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, Bazel), and ML/CV research (PyTorch, OpenCV) from internships at Istio/Envoy and SenseTime to production infra at Google. Known for pragmatic designs that reduce operational overhead and latency, he pairs research experience in segmentation and inpainting with hands‑on full‑stack delivery. An unusual blend: deep ML algorithm work early in his career informs his infrastructure decisions today, improving scalability and resource efficiency in large distributed systems.
