Top SchoolPrasad Kakulamarri is a Principal Architect based in Redmond with over three decades of systems and low-level software experience and five years in his current senior roles driving audio and media platform work for Xbox. He architects and implements hardware-offload solutions—enabling opus decode, sample-rate conversion, convolution reverb and spatial audio on Gen 9 Xbox consoles—to deliver immersive audio with minimal CPU impact and ships GDK APIs used by game and middleware partners. A longtime Microsoft reliability champion and one of the original GameDVR developers for Windows 10, he also built USB audio aggregation drivers to unify multi-display audio scenarios. His background spans DRM, Media Foundation, runtime verifiers and kernel drivers, and he has led teams to introduce engineering rigor like TDD and automated verifier gates into Windows build pipelines. Colleagues know him for finding subtle memory and concurrency defects early and for bridging deep technical design with practical developer-facing APIs.
