Senior🎓
Top SchoolPreston Farr is a pragmatic software engineering manager with 11+ years of hands-on experience and over 15 years in full‑stack mobile and UX-focused development, currently leading Field Operations engineering at Vivint. He combines product-minded leadership with deep mobile expertise—having modernized and consolidated multiple Android and iOS codebases, reduced app sizes by 60%, and launched new payment products that unlocked B2B revenue. Known for servant leadership, Preston builds high‑trust teams, authors clear playbooks and user stories, and institutes culture rituals (Deep Dives, Watercoolers) that measurably boost engagement and productivity. He also brings startup and founder experience—cofounded and sold a SaaS company and runs a small real estate investing LLC—so he blends technical depth with operational and business acumen. Based in Clearfield, Utah, he excels at turning UX friction into elegant, maintainable solutions while rolling up his sleeves to get work across the line.
