Senior🎓
Top SchoolProkop Hapala is an associate researcher and computational physicist with 11 years of experience developing high-performance simulation software for AFM/STM and density functional codes. He combines deep domain expertise in scanning probe microscopy and surface science with practical software engineering—building neural-network-based methods to reconstruct molecular structures from AFM images and contributing to the Fireball DFT code. Based in Prague, he has blended academic postdoctoral work and industry development (including a physically realistic flight model) to apply physics simulations to both fundamental research and interactive applications. Prokop’s toolset targets molecular systems as candidates for next-generation computing, and he also translates scientific realism into a physics-accurate simulation game exploring asteroid colonization and military tech. His profile reflects a rare mix of computational chemistry, machine-learning force-fields, and hands-on simulation engineering that bridges research and applied software.
