Summary
👤
SeniorPunal Chotrani is a Senior Software Engineer based in London with 11 years of hands-on experience building PHP-driven web applications, multisite WordPress platforms, and frontend interfaces for public-sector and commercial clients. He has progressed from freelance and DevOps-adjacent roles to senior engineering at Genomics England, bringing practical expertise in PHP, MySQL/SQL Server, JS, CMS migrations, and performance troubleshooting. Punal combines backend development with strong frontend instincts—having implemented custom plugins, SEO and Open Graph enhancements, custom maps, and Active Directory integrations—so he ships features that work for both users and operations. His background supporting Mac and Windows infrastructure and release management gives him an uncommon blend of development and systems empathy. Known for documenting solutions, building staging/testing environments, and engaging directly with stakeholders, he balances delivery speed with maintainability in regulated environments.
