Senior🎓
Top SchoolQiang Wu is a seasoned AI and systems leader with 24 years of R&D and management experience building core machine learning technologies and scalable platforms that serve millions of users. He co-invented the LambdaMART ranking algorithm at Microsoft and led teams that brought Bing’s local relevance to parity with competitors, while later architecting large multimodal transformer models at Alibaba to dramatically reduce security operations costs. Equally comfortable in research and production, he has a track record of turning novel ML advances into robust, deployable systems across search, recommendation, fraud detection, and content moderation. A thoughtful people leader, he has recruited and grown global talent and forged high-performing cultures across organizational and geographic boundaries. Outside industry, he applies the same systems thinking to family and community service—creating a family manifesto and advising MIT admissions and school PTSA activities. Trained at MIT, he blends deep theoretical insight with pragmatic engineering to solve adversarial, real-world problems at scale.
