Top SchoolRachel Cohen is a software engineer in New York with nine years of experience building user-focused web applications and internal tooling at companies like Datadog, Spotify, and Dow Jones. She brings a unique background as a former sports reporter, which surfaces in her ability to move fast under deadline, communicate clearly with nontechnical stakeholders, and translate newsroom workflows into polished developer solutions. At Spotify she architected scalable Next.js integrations with gRPC and GraphQL and mentored a fellowship cohort that converted to full-time hires, while at Dow Jones she led a React/Node app overhaul that doubled chart production and raised test coverage to 85%. Comfortable across front-end and back-end domains, she combines production delivery with documentation and training to boost team velocity. Her trajectory—from Fullstack Academy to high-scale product engineering—signals strong adaptable craftsmanship and a knack for turning domain expertise into practical developer tools.
