Top SchoolReegan Viljoen is an intermediate software engineer based in Gauteng, South Africa, with six years of hands-on experience focused on Ruby on Rails development. He progressed from intern and data labeler roles into full-stack project work at Platform45, contributing to safety systems for the mining industry, e-learning and CPD platforms for finance, and affordable medical software for South Africans. Now at GotSport, Reegan continues to build web applications with a practical, product-minded approach and a strong grounding in Rails fundamentals and core technologies like Active Storage and Action Text. He combines disciplined learning—demonstrated by intensive Rails project work during his internship—with real-world delivery across regulated and safety-critical domains. Colleagues would describe him as a developer who enjoys shipping features and iterating quickly while keeping maintainability in mind. Outside of feature work he has experience annotating datasets for AI model training, giving him appreciation for data quality in product-driven ML efforts.
