Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolRick Deacon is a pragmatic founder and operator with 8 years of focused experience fixing broken systems across product-market fit, go-to-market, marketing, and operations. As Co-Founder & CEO of Interlock and Co-Founder & CTO of Velocity Markets, he blends cybersecurity instincts with startup leadership to turn messy processes into repeatable, revenue-driving engines. His background as a security analyst and consultant (Bishop Fox, Optiv, KeyBank) informs a risk-aware approach to product and GTM decisions, even though he describes himself as a cybersecurity builder who is not a coder. Having launched and led multiple ventures from the Bay Area to Ohio, he’s comfortable moving between technical strategy, finance, and hands-on execution. Colleagues rely on him to diagnose systemic problems quickly and prioritize pragmatic fixes that unlock growth. He pairs a liberal arts foundation with deep operational grit, often surfacing non-obvious organizational constraints that block scale.
