Summary
👤
SeniorRobert Nees is a seasoned Contract System Engineer and DevOps specialist with 14 years of experience designing, deploying, and operating highly available, secure, and scalable systems across on-prem, virtual, and public cloud environments (AWS/Azure). He blends a developer’s background in cross-platform and embedded software with deep operational expertise, enabling automation-first CI/CD and 24x7 support for global services and NOC operations. His work includes architecting mobile-cloud conversions and pioneering an ActionScript-to-C# compilation route to move Flash apps to Xamarin mobile platforms, reflecting a knack for pragmatic platform migration. At Microsoft he performed tier‑2/3 support, geo-based traffic management, and Powershell automation for global Azure services, and now consults on technical roadmaps and production deployments for cloud-native products. Based in Seattle, he is comfortable shifting between hands-on scripting, system tuning, and high-level architecture while maintaining strong documentation and runbook discipline. Notably, his career spans founder/CTO roles and enterprise engineering, giving him rare perspective across product, operations, and platform engineering.
