Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolRoelf Cilliers is a seasoned Senior Programmer with over 27 years of hands-on experience designing and debugging system- and API-level software, primarily in C/C++ on Windows. His career spans legacy and modern platforms—from DOS, OS/2 and Novell to Linux and all Windows generations—and includes deep low-level expertise in x86/x64 assembly, custom virtual machines, COM, sockets, and graphics APIs like DirectX/OpenGL. He has shipped complex software at Microsoft and in gaming and payments companies, blending rigorous computer science and mathematics training with practical agile and waterfall delivery. Currently based in Austin, he brings a rare combination of historical breadth and current cloud/security awareness (Microsoft Cloud Solution Architect interests), making him equally comfortable untangling obscure platform bugs or designing robust system APIs.
