Top SchoolRoger Friedman is a bilingual (English/Spanish) IT and public health technologist with over two decades of international experience designing and implementing health information systems for governments and NGOs, including OpenMRS, DHIS2 and HL7-based interoperability work for HIV programs. Retired from a long technical assistance career at CDC and major contractors, he combines systems engineering, epidemiology, surveillance and lab informatics with hands-on development experience (Epi Info, VB, SAS, MapInfo) and field training across Latin America, Africa and Asia. Currently volunteering with disaster and community services and pursuing short-term roles in Spanish-speaking countries, he brings practical disaster-response translation and community-engagement skills alongside technical expertise. Unusually for a systems engineer, he has academic grounding in ethnography and Latin American studies, which informs his culturally sensitive approach to technical assistance and training.
