Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolRubens Gomes is a hands-on Senior Staff Engineer specializing in technology architecture, with three decades of software experience and a recent focus on microservices, AI-assisted coding, and Java/Kotlin systems. He has led architecture and platform efforts at companies like Onbe, NinjaOne, and American Airlines, designing cloud-native CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, and large-scale event-driven microservices that process hundreds of thousands of tickets or thousands of endpoints. Comfortable across backend development, infrastructure automation, and observability, he has built production deployment scripts, AWS CDK and Ansible provisioning, and automated security scanning at scale. Rubens pairs deep legacy systems knowledge (mainframes, telecom OSS/BSS) with modern cloud practices, enabling pragmatic migrations and resilient integrations. Based in Plano, Texas, he actively experiments with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery while maintaining engineering rigor. His career shows a pattern of creating reusable developer tooling and templates that reduce onboarding friction and operational risk across large engineering organizations.
