Top SchoolRui Carpentier is a mathematician-turned-software developer and educator with five years of professional experience blending rigorous academic training (PhD and MSc in Mathematics) with practical full-stack programming skills gained at Academia de Código. He currently teaches at ISTEC and ISEC while bringing prior industry experience as an assistant consultant and hands-on Python contributions to educational repositories, notably improving Jupyter-based exercises on encryption, UI, and problem-solving. Comfortable with complex algorithms and numerical analysis, he has taught calculus, linear algebra, numerical analysis and discrete math at multiple universities, giving him a rare depth for translating mathematical problems into working code. Colleagues and students value his curiosity and preference for being challenged daily; he intentionally pivoted fields to apply logical rigor where employers need it most. Aside from classroom and code, he carries the competitive spirit of an International Mathematical Olympiad alumnus, which still informs his approach to algorithmic puzzles and pedagogy.
