Top SchoolRyan Goetz is a lead full‑stack software engineer with 15 years of experience building ground data systems and spacecraft uplink tools at NASA JPL. He currently serves as Cognizant Engineer for the Mars Curiosity Rover and is a core developer of Aerie, JPL’s next‑generation multi‑mission operations system, crafting user‑centric planning, scheduling, and sequencing interfaces. His work spans mission-critical Java backends and operations software used daily to plan science activities, manage rover resources, and uplink time-sensitive commands during cruise and surface operations. Ryan blends hands‑on engineering with mission operations expertise—having modeled instruments for Europa Clipper and supported Perseverance uplink sequencing—so his code directly shapes what spacecraft do each day. Based in Hawaii, he pairs a practical CS education with deep domain knowledge that makes complex mission workflows both reliable and intuitive.
