Top SchoolRyan Gong is a strategic investment leader with 9 years of experience at the intersection of deeptech and corporate finance, currently directing Huawei’s CVC, M&A and strategic investing across the UK, Ireland, Spain, France and CEE/EMEA. He combines a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge and hands-on analog IC design experience with a TMT investment banking pedigree from J.P. Morgan, Oppenheimer and EY, enabling him to evaluate both technical and commercial risk in semiconductors, AI and smart mobility. Under his leadership Huawei has seeded and scaled early-stage deeptech startups and partnered with specialist VCs to drive cross-border transactions and strategic alliances. Fluent in Mandarin and English, he leverages an international network to close complex cross-border deals and identify frontier technology bets. Colleagues describe him as mission-driven and pragmatic—equally comfortable discussing circuit design minutiae or negotiating term sheets—and he values time, reflected in a concise personal credo.
