Top SchoolSalvatore Fiandaca is a GIS-focused technical advisor and engineer with over a decade of experience delivering territorial information systems, training, and consultancy from Sicily. He combines hands-on project work—building PostgreSQL/PostGIS-backed SIT for municipal public lighting and leading GIS training—with UI/UX contributions to the prominent open-source QGIS project, improving expression dialogs and typography for a better user experience. At Planetek Italia and through his freelance practice Pigrecoinfinito he blends technical design, field mapping, and systems integration, often tackling civic infrastructure challenges. Trained as a civil and environmental engineer with specialized GIS certification from UNIPA, he brings practical engineering discipline to geospatial software and data workflows. An understated attention to UX in open-source GIS tools hints at a broader commitment to making complex spatial systems more usable for practitioners.
