Top SchoolSam Barani is a Member of Technical Staff based in San Francisco with 12 years of software engineering experience across consumer tech and cutting-edge crypto/DeFi projects. He built and led engineering efforts from founding a VC-backed DeFi protocol (Tonic) to senior roles at Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs, and has advised and served as interim CTO for Glass Markets. His background includes product experimentation at Facebook and internships at Google, Uber, and Yelp, giving him a strong foundation in scalable product development and experimentation. Sam moves fluidly between hands-on engineering and strategic technical leadership, shipping protocols that attracted institutional market makers and top crypto investors. He tends to work at the intersection of decentralized finance and developer infrastructure, combining product instincts with low-level systems experience dating back to embedded and connected-car work. Colleagues would describe him as an entrepreneurial engineer who scales teams and codebases while staying deeply involved in implementation details.
