Senior🎓
Top SchoolSam Kavanagh is a Senior React Developer and engineering leader who has deliberately stayed hands-on, bringing over a decade of technical and leadership experience to front-end and full-stack FinTech projects. Based in Santander, Spain, he builds and maintains customer-facing Next.js apps and internal admin tools, emphasizing modern front-end architecture, comprehensive testing (Vitest, React Testing Library, MSW) and collaboration with design and QA. His background includes CTO and Head of Technology roles where he ensured reliability for systems managing billions in client funds, architected scalable processes, and led recruitment and delivery teams. Sam also has strong full-stack and mobile experience (React Native, Node.js, Angular) and a track record of migrating systems to cloud platforms and introducing CI/CD and testing practices. He pairs academic depth—a PhD in Computer Science—with practical delivery, often serving as technical consultant and architect for complex FinTech and government projects. Notably, he blends rigorous research-led thinking with pragmatic shipping instincts, preferring to remain a senior individual contributor who still shapes technical strategy.
