Top SchoolSam Murphy is a Senior Data Scientist and geospatial engineer with 10+ years turning satellite and hazard data into commercial risk products for insurers, miners, and climate agencies. He blends PhD-level remote sensing research (NASA-funded) with hands-on product engineering, having founded Skyline Labs to ship 9+ production parametric apps across wildfire, storm, quake, hail and drought. Sam is fluent across the stack—Python, Xarray, STAC, cloud-native pipelines (GEE, Cloud Run), Streamlit and containerised deployment—so he both architects systems and ships MVPs quickly. His work has reduced empirical analysis from days to minutes for brokers and reinsurers and supported clients including Marsh, SwissRe partners, QBE and NFU Mutual. Comfortable in small, high-ownership teams, he gravitates to platform and product leadership where tooling empowers others. Based in Cambridge, he pairs deep geoscience expertise with practical ML, computer vision and emerging agent/LLM workflows to unlock novel parametric structures.
