Top SchoolSam Shatzkin is an Entrepreneur in Residence and product-focused engineer with eight years of hands-on experience building cloud-scale software and AI-driven insurance products, currently based in New York. He combines a joint BS/MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago with practical roles at startups and large tech (Axle, Amazon, Lumosity) where he automated manual workflows and shipped tooling that accelerated scaling. Sam blends systems and HCI interests—his research and lab work produced VR games for novel haptic devices and he has prototyped software for paleontological data—while leading student-facing fabrication labs and an engineering society. Comfortable across product, research, and maker spaces, he also spent a high-tech gap year in Israel accelerating his web and mobile development chops in startup environments.
