Summary
👤
SeniorSamantha Lavender is a Managing Director and scientist with a decade of experience applying Earth Observation data to monitor and detect environmental change across marine, freshwater, and terrestrial systems. At Pixalytics she combines scientific programming, GIS, and hydrographic surveying to build end-user software and educational materials that make remote sensing accessible to non-experts. She has a track record of translating academic research into commercial solutions and nurturing the UK and international remote sensing community through leadership and mentoring, including non-executive and trustee roles. Known for a pragmatic, investigative approach, she prototypes solutions to test feasibility before scaling them and practices essentialism to focus on the highest impact work. Based in Plymouth, she blends hands-on technical consultancy with strategic company stewardship, making her equally comfortable in the lab, on project delivery, and at the board table.
