Senior🎓
Top SchoolSamuel Hsiung is a seasoned engineer and founding-team technologist with 11 years of experience building scalable backend services and well-designed APIs, now focused on integrating LLMs and embeddings into product workflows. He has led backend architecture and feature delivery at Pinterest across search, growth, creator, and emerging products, and now brings that product-first systems mindset to early-stage startup BuildForever. A serial technical founder, he shipped one of the early large-scale single-page AJAX music sites and multiple consumer apps that together reached millions of users. Comfortable across languages and the stack, he couples pragmatic full‑stack instincts with deep backend design—MQTT/pub-sub, recommender signals, and high-throughput services feature prominently in his work. Based in Austin and Caltech‑trained, he blends entrepreneurial grit with production-hardened engineering discipline. Notably, his career shows a pattern of turning experimental ideas (from web desktops to auto-collage frameworks) into reliable, user-facing platforms.
