Top SchoolSarah Widder is a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft with a decade of hands-on experience building language-aware systems and user-facing features, blending a Yale background in cognitive science with practical expertise in C#, TypeScript, Python, and ML experiment workflows. Her work spans production engineering on Teams and dialog-authoring tools, research-driven model evaluation, and robotics and AR research from earlier internships, reflecting a rare mix of applied NLP, HCI, and systems development. She moves comfortably between prototyping and shipping scalable features, having integrated language generation into dialog management tools and implemented low-level UI/UX components like video background blurring. Based in Seattle, she pairs curiosity about human language and cognition with product-focused engineering, and often draws on research experience when tackling ambiguous product problems.
