Top SchoolSarah Wise is an associate professor and Future Leaders Fellow at UCL’s Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, with 12 years' experience modeling how human behaviour, transport networks, and information shape the spread of disease. Trained as a computational social scientist (PhD, George Mason) with a BA in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, she specializes in spatially explicit agent-based models that couple behaviourally-influenced movement on networks with GIS and social network analysis. Her work blends open and crowdsourced data with rigorous simulation to forecast complex socio-technical and urban dynamics, often informing humanitarian and public health questions. Outside academia she contributes to Missing Maps and HOT mapathons, reflecting a practical commitment to usable, community-driven geospatial data.
