Top SchoolScott Knauert is an independent consultant and infrastructure-focused technology leader with 18 years of experience designing, hardening, and operating enterprise platforms across finance and small business environments. He has built and scaled infrastructure teams, implemented rigorous compliance and hardening programs (Windows, Linux, AD, PKI), and led complex migrations including O365/AzureAD consolidations and data center disaster recovery builds. Known for pragmatic automation, Scott created bespoke tooling—from VM builders and CMDBs to network change management scripts—that reduced operational risk and enabled junior engineers to be productive. His background spans hands-on network engineering (Cisco cores, wireless, CUCM) to cloud and virtualization operations (VMware, nascent AWS), with a track record of turning underperforming systems into reliable, auditable services. Based in the New York City metro area and grounded in an MA/BA in Physics, he combines analytical rigor with practical engineering, often surfacing non-obvious fixes like resolving NAT-related Azure AD Connect failures.
