Top SchoolScott Merchant is a Senior Software Engineer with a 4-year professional trajectory at Octopus Deploy and prior progressive engineering and leadership experience at Saab Australia. He has led small teams, run sprints, and been the go-to problem solver for critical bugs while contributing to design decisions and mentoring junior engineers. His early work spans embedded and safety-critical systems (submarine monitoring in Ada) through security monitoring integrations and .NET platform development, demonstrating comfort across languages and domains. Scott pairs practical delivery—shipping features and internal tooling for reporting and billing—with strong code review and architecture instincts. Based in Sarreguemines, France, he brings a rare mix of systems-level thinking from defense-grade projects and modern cloud tooling exposure at Octopus. Outside pure engineering, his background in music and sound engineering suggests creative problem-solving and a knack for disciplined collaboration.
