Scott Stout
Principal Security Engineer at Papaya
Vancouver, Washington, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorScott Stout is a Principal Security Engineer with 13+ years of hands-on experience securing networks and cloud environments for both multinational enterprises and small businesses. He leads security operations and compliance (PCI) efforts, bridging low-level network device configuration through code review and production fraud analysis. Previously he ran a red-team/internal assessment practice that improved security postures for over a hundred clients, demonstrating both tactical offensive skills and repeatable assessment methodologies. Comfortable in Ruby, Python, Perl, C, PHP, Shell and Java, he routinely performs code-level reviews and automation to harden systems. Based in Vancouver, Washington, Scott combines clear executive communication and thorough documentation with a practitioner’s focus on standards-based and pragmatic security solutions. An uncommon strength is his breadth—from bastion router and firewall tuning to interpreting forensic signals in live environments—making him a pragmatic leader who still gets into the weeds.
