Top SchoolScott Sweeny is a Staff Engineer with 14 years of embedded systems and Linux expertise, currently leading development of a custom high-performance Linux OS for autonomous vehicles at Motional. He combines deep hands-on skills in OS packaging, toolchains, and middleware with proven technical leadership across hardware-in-loop orchestration and vehicle deployment pipelines. His background spans bringing Ubuntu to new platforms at Canonical, low-level Linux driver and platform-builder work at Timesys, and safety-critical control software early in his career, giving him a rare end-to-end view from silicon to system. Based in Pittsburgh, he is particularly adept at modernizing legacy build systems and squeezing stable, deterministic performance out of complex compute stacks for production AV fleets.
