Top SchoolSebastian Jansson is a Senior Software Engineer and technical lead in Zurich with nine years of experience turning research-grade signal processing and computer vision into robust, user-facing products. He has driven video processing and bandwidth optimization at Google—halving minimum call bitrates and improving bitrate adaptation with a custom estimator—while also shipping features like virtual backgrounds for web conferencing. His background spans applied physics, computer science, psychology and economics, which he leverages to balance rigorous experimental methods with pragmatic product decisions. Earlier roles in electronic warfare research and large-scale image-processing systems honed his ability to build deterministic test harnesses and scalable cloud workflows. Colleagues know him for blending deep algorithmic work (e.g., simulated-time WebRTC testing and signal-processing estimators) with a knack for making advanced tech feel seamless to end users.
