Top SchoolSebastian Prado is a design and engineering leader with 11 years of experience building experimental physical systems at the intersection of embodied AI, computation, and play. As Director of Design at Clixo and co-founder of MORAKANA, he blends product design, rapid fabrication, and research to ship award-recognized consumer inventions (TIME Best Inventions of 2025; multiple Toy of the Year finalists). His background spans academia and industry—from NYU ITP research on symbiotic bio-digital systems to hands-on roles in advanced manufacturing at FATHOM and Pier 9—giving him fluency in prototyping, materials, and interactive systems. He teaches and mentors, having served as an adjunct and resident researcher, and brings an unusual maker pedigree rooted in blacksmithing and mechanical engineering. Comfortable leading cross-disciplinary teams, he translates speculative research into playful, manufacturable products that provoke new human–machine relationships.
