Senior🎓
Top SchoolSebastien Varlet is a pragmatic tech lead and engineering manager with over a decade of hands-on experience building cross-functional teams and shipping customer-facing fintech and event-platform products. He has a strong track record of turning underperforming squads into high-velocity teams—scaling a multi-ethnic, multi-timezone group to 16 engineers and driving a 50% productivity uplift at Chocolate Finance. Technically fluent across backend and frontend stacks (Node, TypeScript, Elixir, React) and AWS serverless infrastructures, he combines architecture, CI/CD and TDD practices to deliver robust features like payments, KYC and analytics. As a former CTO he led a migration from PHP to Elixir to drastically accelerate delivery and reengage engineering talent, and he routinely pairs coaching with process change to improve morale and output. Based in London with international experience including Singapore, he blends team leadership, product-driven thinking and hands-on coding to close the gap between business goals and engineering delivery.
