Top SchoolSergio Ballestero is a pragmatic freelance software engineer with over 13 years of professional experience and 18+ years involved in web development, specializing in frontend engineering with strong full-stack capabilities. Based in Asunción, Paraguay, he has built scalable, high-throughput systems—from a GPS tracking platform processing millions of messages to cloud-native React/Electron business communications apps—using React, TypeScript, Laravel/PHP, Node.js and React Native. He combines hands-on feature delivery with operations experience (GitLab/GitHub CI/CD, cron jobs, UDP servers for GPS hardware and Firebase push notifications) and a history of mentoring and improving team workflows. Sergio is comfortable shipping cross-platform products, refactoring legacy code into modern, testable components, and integrating complex backend APIs and auth flows. His portfolio spans US and regional clients including university management systems and mission-critical fleet tracking, reflecting an ability to translate demanding real-world requirements into resilient, user-centric applications. An unusual strength is his blend of UI design background and low-level server integration experience, enabling end-to-end ownership from pixel to production.
