Senior🎓
Top SchoolSergiu Giurgiu is a Senior Software Engineer with over 18 years of experience building everything from low-level embedded drivers for ARC/ARM devices to cloud-native services and web/mobile front-ends. He blends deep systems knowledge—Bluetooth stacks, OLED drivers, video capture/encoding—and hands-on architecture of scalable AWS platforms, CI/CD and SDKs for gesture and vision-based products. His career spans startups and large companies (RIM, Dejero, Broadcom), where he has driven major performance gains and ported custom Linux distributions for mission-critical transmitters. Sergiu is comfortable across languages and domains (C/C++, Java, C#, JavaScript, Spring, .NET) and repeatedly moves projects from prototype to production. Notably, he paired multimedia engineering with machine learning data pipelines at Motion Gestures to enable customer-facing gesture SDKs. Based in the Waterloo area, he combines pragmatic engineering with systems-level thinking to solve cross-stack challenges.
