Sr. Software Engineer at Rillan AI LLC
Greater St. Louis United States
Summary
👤
SeniorShawn Stratton is a senior software engineer and principal-level platform architect with 16 years of experience designing deterministic, GitOps-driven systems for multi-cluster, multi-cloud, and on-prem Kubernetes environments. He specializes in building developer platforms and operator-driven automation that enforce consistent deployment patterns, governance, and observability while eliminating implicit behavior that causes drift and instability. Shawn has driven large-scale platform transformations—defining architectural contracts, fleet management strategies, and infrastructure abstraction layers that boost developer velocity without sacrificing operational control. As founder of Rillan AI, he’s pioneering a local-first context control plane that treats LLMs as interchangeable compute while keeping high-quality, private project context portable and secure. His background spans hands-on SRE and platform roles at organizations like McGraw-Hill, DRUD, and Alaska Airlines, and he combines deep system-level thinking with an unusual focus on applying LLMs in constrained, system-aware ways rather than ad-hoc automation. Based in Greater St. Louis, he blends entrepreneurial product-building with rigorous platform engineering and open-source tooling.
