Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolShemona Singh is a design researcher and hybrid designer-engineer with a decade of experience building thoughtful web and product experiences across startups, enterprise, and academia. Currently exploring learning, design, and AI at Carnegie Mellon’s HyperSense lab, she blends interaction design research with hands-on prototyping and front-end engineering. Her background spans roles from design technologist at Indeed—where she converted UX concepts into production React prototypes and built Bayesian analytics tools—to product and design engineering at early-stage companies. Shemona’s work is marked by a practical maker’s mindset (“thinks like a designer, builds like an engineer”) and a history of teaching and mentoring students in web development. Comfortable moving between research, visual systems, and code, she often ships polished, test-driven prototypes that inform product decisions. Based in New York, she has a rare mix of academic research chops and startup execution, frequently doing part-time pro-bono design/front-end work for mission-driven projects.
