Shingo Kawamura
Japan
Summary
👤
SeniorShingo Kawamura is an experienced Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineer with 13+ years at Rakuten, specializing in operating and evolving large-scale Linux production environments across on-premise, virtualized, and cloud platforms. He has led multiple data center migrations, service relocations, and Azure rollouts while maintaining service continuity and improving operational security. Pragmatic about automation, Shingo leverages the Unix toolchain, Bash and Perl to build efficient operational workflows and data processing pipelines rather than heavy orchestration for every task. His hybrid expertise—bridging traditional data centers, VMware virtualization, NetApp storage and modern cloud platforms like Azure and GCP—lets him translate hands-on operational lessons into resilient, scalable platforms. Based in Shibuya, Japan, he combines steady production ownership with a knack for simplifying complex transitions during organizational and architectural change. An understated strength is his focus on practical, auditable automation that reduces toil while preserving reliability under high-stakes migrations.
