Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolSim Kennedy is a pragmatic Software MLOps Engineer with 11 years’ experience building and maintaining data-driven back-ends, ETL pipelines and cloud-native deployments across startups and consultancies. He specialises in Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch and productionising ML workflows (Hugging Face, DVC, FastAPI) with CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes on AWS/GCP. At Spend Network he led end-to-end data ingestion, cleaning and enrichment for complex, messy public procurement data, and more recently has helped clients train and deploy custom LLMs as an MLOps consultant at MantisNLP. Comfortable as a hands-on lead or freelancer, he repeatedly modernises legacy systems—migrating Python/Django versions, introducing testing and observability, and automating deployments—to make projects maintainable and production-ready. Based in the UK with a physics degree, he combines analytical rigor with a track record of pragmatic, production-focused engineering.
