Simon Calbert is a software engineer with 12 years of experience, currently building systems at Aerospacelab after three years developing client solutions at Odoo. He blends a formal engineering education in AI, big data and optimization from UCLouvain with hands-on backend work across Python, JavaScript and XML, notably contributing bug fixes and feature improvements to the widely used open-source Odoo ERP. His strengths are curiosity, tenacity and a drive to contribute to well-crafted projects, evidenced by a student internship optimizing low-Earth-orbit satellite constellations. Comfortable moving between data-driven optimization and production engineering, he focuses on reliable, pragmatic solutions that improve workflows and accounting processes. Based in Belgium, he brings a multidisciplinary mindset—interested beyond tech in philosophy and politics—which helps him approach problems from uncommon angles.
